Self Organizing Networks (SON) is an incredible automation technology designed to make the planning, configuration, management, optimization and healing of mobile radio access networks simpler and faster.
Self-Organizing Networks are a critical enabler for the widespread deployment of mobile broadband technologies. Network complexity has reached the stage at which self-configuring, self-optimizing and self-healing functions are now indispensable for running a modern mobile network.
Ericsson’s SON Optimization Manager (SON OM) is a network management system for the automatic optimization of radio networks. By centralizing functionality, Ericsson optimize multiple network elements and domains can in a coordinated, top-down approach.

Self-optimizing and Self-healing Networks
Ericsson’s SON Optimization Manager is a network management system for the automatic optimization of radio networks. By centralizing functionality, we optimize multiple network elements and domains can in a coordinated, top-down approach. This allows the integration of multiple technologies (2G, 3G and 4G) and multiple vendors into a single optimization paradigm. Ericsson is looking to recruit both a SON System Engineer and SON Software Developer to drive this OSS System evolution.
